Transdesign's site also has an Amour red glitter with hearts and a green glitter with butterlies you can find them by clicking here, and scrolling down. So there you have it, some cute glitters from Amour. I'm actually thinking about getting another bottle of Starlet Night and Blue Night and frankening them together to see what happens. Otherwise, the points of the star will catch on things and start to pull up (you can see that started to happen in my pictures above. One word of warning, though-when you wear star glitter like the ones in Starlet Night, cover them with topcoat right away, at least two coats of it. My favorite of the three is Starlet Night-I just love that small bar glitter, and I hope I start seeing that in more polishes. You do have to fish for the large glitter pieces, but there are plenty of them to fish out, and with pieces like this you'll probably want to place them strategically anyway. In terms of formula, they applied fine, and the small glitter went on evenly. To sum up, I liked all three of these and I think they are well worth the money they cost they are not as uniquely special as indie glitters are, but they are very nice in their own right.

McCall presents to most as an average single mom who is quietly raising her teenage daughter. This would make a good gift for any teen or adult.ĭescription: THE EQUALIZER is a reimagining of the classic series following Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn. The DVD has some nice extras: 3 behind-the-scenes specials, as well as the regular deleted scenes and gag reel. Queen Latifah herself deserves a lot of the credit, but the writing is also very good. CBS is packed with remakes and reboots, but this show stands out as one of the best. The first season was a big hit, and the second season is doing pretty well. At any rate, it gives them time to focus more on story and characters. Perhaps they think that female audience members won’t like it. There’s a lot of great action in the show, but the violence has been toned down quite a bit since the 80’s version of this series. She also lives with her Aunt Vi (the always-underrated Lorraine Toussaint), who helps her raise her teenaged daughter, Delilah. She tries to redeem herself with each person she helps – she has a lot to make up for from her shady past. She has a team helping her, including her former CIA handler (played by the amazing Chris Noth). Robyn McCall (Queen Latifah) is a former CIA agent who now secretly helps people who are victims of evil doers (especially female victims). Batman is a vigilante, but he has no super powers. There’s a thin line that sometimes can be hard to find. This is a vigilante show, which is similar to a superhero show. The actors may be different, but the scripts never change.“The Equalizer: Season One” Review by Suzanne 9/15/21 On the same night that ViacomCBS spent millions of dollars to convince us to invest in Paramount+, they trotted out more of the same. They didn’t use the opportunity to launch an offbeat new show or to expand the fanbase of a growing but beloved sitcom. It says something, however, about how far broadcast network television has fallen that a formulaic reboot of an ’80s crime drama got the post-Super Bowl slot. A veteran of the police procedural, Chris Noth plays a “quirky” ex-CIA director running his own private security company Adam Goldberg, who has been in the CBS system for a few years already, plays the obligatory computer whiz hardworking veteran actress Liza Lapira plays the Air Force sniper turned bar owner/best friend and Lorraine Toussaint plays the gravitas she is paid handsomely to offer the occasional bit of sage advice or tell someone to shut the fuck up. She does, however, solicit cases from those in need of her brand of off-the-books justice. Someone in our comments section last night mentioned that The Equalizer basically ripped off The A-Team in the ’80s, and that is exactly what’s going on here, except that The Equalizer is not a fugitive, nor does she drive a bad-ass van. Even the pilot was as generic as they come.īased on the 1980s series of the same name (to which there are a number of callbacks that none of us will understand), The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, a former C.I.A. That is because, though she’s only the 5th Black woman to lead her own broadcast network series (seriously? That is lunacy), there is nothing else in the least bit extraordinary about the The Equalizer. We will miss her during her lucrative exile from pop-culture relevancy. If anyone deserves to cash out and coast on her charisma for a few years, it’s Latifah. In no way do I begrudge them, either, because from what I understand about network procedurals is that they are hard work and require long hours, where actors must memorize 10 pages of a script on the same day they are regurgitating the 10 pages of script they memorized three days before.Īll of which is to say: Good for Queen Latifah. There’s still plenty of money to be made on broadcast network television, however, especially over on CBS, where they have clearly perfected the network procedural formula, and where all your once-favorite actors have gone to collect huge paychecks and fade from cultural relevancy. Until recently, the best solution for this was something called FlexiHub, which allowed you to use any USB peripheral on your Sk圜omputer. Before Luna moved on to other projects like Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) and HBO's The Last of Us, he was set to reprise his Ghost Rider for a solo series on Hulu, but the project was axed in 2019.Īnd yet, there are still other Spirits of Vengeance who have previously appeared in or are still making their way through the Marvel Universe, some with insane powers of their own. Reyes appears as a playable character in the Marvel's Midnight Suns video game, and was portrayed in ABC's live-action Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Robbie Reyes and Other Ghost Riders, ExplainedĪ mechanic and guardian to his younger brother, Reyes is reborn as a new Ghost Rider after getting gunned down by mercenaries in East Los Angeles. First appearing in 2014's All-New Ghost Rider #1 and created by writer Felipe Smith and artist Tradd Moore, Roberto "Robbie" Reyes is one such character to join the ranks of Ghost Riders like Blaze, Carter Slade, Danny Ketch and Alejandra Jones, to name a few. Blaze is the version of Ghost Rider portrayed by actor Nicolas Cage in the live-action Ghost Rider film duology, but there have been others in comics to earn the flaming skull and their own hellish ride. The original Spirit of Vengeance, Johnny Blaze, was created by writer Gary Friedrich and artist Mike Ploog in 1972's Marvel Spotlight #5, and became the demonic antihero following a deal with the devil. Ghost Rider is one of the many iconic superheroes from Marvel Comics. Fiery elements have been edited into the photo to replicate the powers of Johnny Blaze, the damned stunt motorcyclist who sold his soul to save his father’s life. Wright completes the antihero's signature look by sporting a leather jacket, boots and pants, and wields his weapon of choice: a long, flaming metal chain. The skull mask is eerie in design and completely covers Wright’s face, while the character’s iconic flames typically engulfing his skull are presented as long locks of flaming hair. The Ghost Rider outfit by Wright is a sight to behold. The design panel is just SO EASY and INTUITIVE to use! This alone was reason enough to convert from Wordpress to Squarespace! Never a headache with Squarespace on this. I learnt how to custom CSS code to make my website stand out even more - so yes, you have the freedom to totally customise your Squarespace Website! It could grow with me and I could change templates without having to fork out hundred of dollars for one (unlike Wordpress). You can manage everything in one centralised place: domain, hosting, templates, design, custom CSS, verified third party integrations, billing & account, SEO, marketing, analytics e-commerce, email campaigns and trust me. Here are the reasons why I prefer Squarespace: What benefits led me to defy what the masses were doing and go down the 'unconventional' route? Phew, ok feeling good to get that off my chest! Now let's turn to Squarespace. You sort it out and if someone robs your site or data, too bad? Wordpress doesn't have an approval system for all the templates and plugins out there. Good luck filtering all the outdated and irrelevant info you need about Wordpress! That was a jungle in itself. No help from a support team, you're on your own mate. Talked way too much to the computer: "why won't you just do what I want you to do?!" Lots of going back and forth between editing mode and public view mode. Trying to blog on Wordpress was like all my tech nightmares come true - what you see is not what you get. WHY does it have to be so freaking COMPLICATED? I mean, seriously!? What I really DISLIKED about Wordpress - sorry, not sorry Wordpress users! You could fully customise your Wordpress site and it's able to grow with you Some people had BEAUTIFUL sites made on Wordpress It was cheaper in the long run (template costs are a one-off expense), you only pay for the yearly domain and hosting costs. The fact that EVERYBODY was using it so it was more out of FOMOīecause it's so popular, there's also a TONNE of resources out there Let's start with Wordpress shall we? What attracted me to Wordpress in the first place? If you are after a more tech break down of specs and features, then you will love this Squarespace vs Wordpress comparison article by WBE. Keep in mind that this 'review' is not one of technicalities and features, but one from an emotional standpoint. The Pros and Cons of Squarespace vs Wordpress With the promise of no more wasting time on complicated tech stuff, backed by an amazing support team and an intuitive platform that would allow me to just focus on design and writing - I signed up immediately and never looked back.Ģ. I caught a whiff of it's clean, modern and minimalistic design and I was sold. Right about this time (mid 2017), Squarespace was growing fast and picking up traction. Disheartened that I would ever build my dream website because technology was just so darn evil and complicated, I almost gave up on the idea altogether. This is when I decided to let Wordpress back into my life and give us another shot. But the time came when I felt like SmugMug just wasn't enough - I needed a platform that could grow with me and that I could really customise to my heart's desire. Then, as a typical photographer would, I fell for SmugMug and we built a beautiful little photography portfolio together. My Story with Squarespace and Wordpressīefore Squarespace came along, I had a short fling with good old Wordpress - but that ended in exasperated frustration. Don't worry about picking up any more advanced pedals quite yet - focus on practicing without mistakes. You just have to keep playing one song over and over again until you get it. Pretty soon you'll find yourself getting more advanced, maybe even picking up a reverb pedal or two! With a couple hours of practice, you should be able to start picking up your first chords and transitioning your fingering between them faster and faster. With these two criteria, you’ll start playing in literally no time at all. We did sprinkle in some more difficult chords in there, but we also marked those songs so you’d know that the chords might be harder to pick up on your fret board.īut don’t underestimate the simplicity here… The songs we chose below all have chords that are simple for you to get. Some chords are harder to get to than others, and just take more practice to master. When you’re first starting out you’re still developing calluses and getting comfortable with picking out chords. The chords are easy to find on the fret board for a beginner. A beginner can practice 2-3 chords and then have the ability to play the entire song! Pretty cool, right?Ģ. There’s no need to worry about firmware updates so that it works on one console over another, and their sound capabilities nearly match those of wireless, incompatible headsets that cost twice as much. Once the adapter is hooked up, you can enjoy the same headset flexibility as newer Xbox controllers. Note: Some specific older Xbox One controllers from 20 do not have the 3.5mm jack built in, and require a simple stereo plug adapter so that you can connect 3.5mm headsets. Since the power and the audio is determined by the 3.5mm jack on the controllers, these headsets always work between Xbox and PlayStation, while keeping all of their intended volume, mute, and microphone functions the same right out the box. Since the PlayStation and Xbox have different audio firmware, inputs, and capabilities, a fully wireless headset that has 7.1 surround sound and on-ear controls can only work for the console that it is originally designed to work with.īut there is one audio connection that is in common with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that’s located right on the controller: the 3.5mm input. Mainstream Headsets Are Very Compatible Across Both Consoles And they’ll be sure to work on your PS4, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile devices. The 400HS model offers the same 40mm drivers that come with the pricier 800LX so you won’t be compromised on sound quality. Note: Plantronics claims that the 800HS is not optimized for the Xbox One or PC, so there may be compatibility issues when interchanging between consoles.Ī sure-fire route for ensuring that your headset will work with both your PlayStation and Xbox, while maintaining the same capabilities out of the box, is going for a wired stereo headset like the Plantronics RIG 400HS model, found here on Amazon Instead, if you own a PlayStation, you can opt for the Plantronics RIG 800HS Wireless Gaming Headset, which doesn’t offer Dolby Atmos but has the same design and wireless base as the pricier 800LX model. In fact, connecting these pricey headsets will allow you to listen wirelessly to your game, but only in the standard stereo format. The bad news here is that Sony does not support Dolby Atmos on the PS4 or PS4 Pro. So you might be thinking, since the 800LX model allows you to enable Dolby Atmos surround sound, connecting that same USB wireless base to a PlayStation 4 or PS4 Pro will have the same result. However, this specific model comes with the additional capability to deliver Dolby Atmos sound to your ears when enabled in the audio menus. These headsets offer wireless 2.4 GHz frequency sound from a USB wireless base that connects to the back of the Xbox. High-End Headphones Are Specific To One ConsoleĪlthough your budget might allow it, if you are first and foremost looking for a pair of headsets that are indeed compatible across all your gaming devices, you probably want to look away from models that offer pricier features.Ī key example is the Plantronics RIG 800LX Wireless Gaming Headset for Xbox One and PC. Keep reading, as I explain below the key features that you will want to watch for so that you can invest in a pair of headsets that will work seamlessly across all your gaming devices. If you are looking for a headset that offers best-in-class sound and wireless capability, you will most likely only be able to enjoy those premium features on the console it is intended for. Wireless headsets, or those that offer premium features specific to one platform, are not compatible with other gaming systems. Stereo gaming headsets that use a 3.5mm jack input are compatible with PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. So are PlayStation 4 and Xbox One headsets compatible? Through trial and error it is common to see all the amazing benefits one headset features, only to find out that the premium bells and whistles don’t work on the other console. One of the most confusing purchases you can make, as a multi-platform gamer, is choosing a headset that works on your PS4, Xbox, and PC interchangeably. 33 Jump Time All time Sort by Endorsements Order Desc Show 20 items Display Tiles Refine results Found 653 results.
